• $650: The cost of the CHEAPEST seats in TD garden last night for game 6 of the NBA Championships. That’s the cost of a Dyson Blow Dryer, 20 Soul Cycle Classes, or at least two highlight appointments.

TLDRs: when you only have time for a 'quickie'

🏀 Golden State Warriors won the 2022 NBA Championships last night against the Boston Celtics- in Boston no less! This is their fourth title since 2015, and Steph Curry's first ever MVP award.

🏒 Colorado Avalanche steal Game 1 in the Stanley Cup playoffs in an OT thriller. This series features the best offense (Avs) against the best defense (Tampa), so expect it to be more entertaining than Miles Teller's abs in Top Gun.

🏌️Day 1 of the US Open kicked off yesterday and thus far, the leaderboard is a scatter board. Veterans are struggling and throwing temper tantrums. We got a lot more golf to play though so hopefully they can get their game (and their head space) together.

⚾️ Astros' Luis Garcia and Phil Maton BOTH threw “immaculate innings”… which means they each threw only 9 pitches with 3 strikeouts in one inning. This is the first time in history that two immaculate innings have been thrown in one game.

🏁 Canadian Grand Prix takes place this Sunday, and this course is known to take many racers' 1st place virginity. Peep Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) back in 2007. Could Sunday be the day our boy-wonder Lando Norris (McLaren) pops his winner 🍒 ? or maybe Canadian Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)?

NBA: Golden State Warriors take home the championship trophy and all of Boston's joy....until football season

Golden State Warriors (4*) vs. Boston Celtics (2)

• Golden State Warriors won their fourth NBA title in the past 7 years, and it's pretty obvious that they have officially started a DYNASTY. I'm talking Starbucks level. LuLu lemon level. Dare I even say...Soul Cycle level?! This one was extra special for the boys given that this was Klay Thompson's first season back since tearing his Achille's, Steph Curry's first ever Finals MVP award, and Jordan Poole's first ever championship title. So many firsts.... someone cue Madonna's Like a Virgin immediately.

• Golden State went on a 21-point scoring spree in the second quarter. That is the longest point streak in an NBA playoff game in 50 years. **Insert my evil laugh here

• Don't get me wrong Warriors showed UP and showed out but Celtics also did themselves as dirty as one can with 23 turnovers. Jayson Tatum in particular had the most turnovers (100) of any player in NBA playoff history. That's bad... like, as bad as accidentally sending a screenshot to the person you took said screenshot of bad.

Now usually watching grown men cry gives me the MAJOR ick, but seeing Steph Curry get after his 4th ring? Nah, This made me realize that PERFECT MEN DO EXIST.

NHL: Stanley Cup Final: Game 1 giving first date vibes

Tampa Bay Lightning 3, Colorado Avalanche 4 (OT)

• Aaaand we’re off! To a slow start by Tampa, who was sleeping at the wheel in the first period. They managed to crawl back and force OT but the Avalanche quickly put them away.

• Avalanche: entered this game with the confidence of a girl walking into a room with a fresh blowout (iykyk). They brought so much offensive heat that not even THE Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa goalie) could stop them.

• Tampa: looked like they were on a first date and not quite comfortable yet. Coming back from a 2 goal deficit is nothing to balk at, but they dug that hole themselves. They’ve lost game 1s and been fine before, but you can’t afford to do that in the STANLEY CUP!

• This is feeling like a tortoise & the hare situation… The Avalanche may have gotten the jump on Tampa but Tampa will make adjustments, Vasy will wake up a bit, and they’ll be out for blood in game 2.

Golf: U.S. Open: Day 1 in the books

• And the leaderboard is full of randos (plus Rory McIlroy 🙂).

• Tea: If you’ve been keeping up with the LIV vs. PGA drama, the LIV players are struggling so far… Including dear Phil Mickelson, who’s looking to finally get a U.S. Open under his belt.

• Big shots: Brooks Koepka birdied the 15th hole with a gorgeous shot, Justin Rose also birdied an early hole to get off on the right foot, and Gary Woodland made quite possibly the longest put I’ve seen in my young life.

• Bad behavior: Rory McIlroy threw a fit after a bad shot on the 5th hole. If you’re new to golf — this is a major no-no. Golf is a ~gentleman’s~ sport, after all.

• 2:20pm ET, Atlanta Braves @ Chicago Cubs, MLB: Atlanta is on fire, with 14 wins in a row. Can the Braves keep the momentum going in Friday’s game against Chicago?

Saturday, June 18th

• 8:00pm ET, Tampa Bay Lightning vs Colorado Avalanche, NHL: Its the Stanley Cup final, and if game 1 was any indication, each game is only going to get more and more interesting.

Sunday, June 19th

• 2:00pm ET, Canadian Grand Prix, F1: guys this is like one of the few races you don't have to set an alarm for. And for you non Red Bull, non Ferrari fans? You might actually see someone else take podium.

• Logan Paul (who is technically considered an athlete with his boxing debuts this year) was spotted getting cozy beside the beautiful Sports Illustrated model (gah. goals) Nina Agdal in London earlier this week. Look, dating has not been confirmed and I’m not one to start rumors….JK I totally am. We might have a new celeb couple on our hands!
